Nut of the ES Alunt variety is an early-maturing legume crop intended for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. This variety matures in 82 days and is characterized by high yield — up to 3.89 tons per hectare. Plants reach a height of about 54 cm, and the thousand-grain weight is 410 grams, indicating large and high-quality grain.
Nut grain contains a high level of protein — about 29.8%, making it a valuable source of plant-based protein. In addition, nut is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals such as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and folic acid. It also contains antioxidants and saponins, which contribute to health and possess beneficial properties.
The ES Alunt variety is resistant to drought and shattering, and it is tolerant to diseases such as ascochitosis and root rots. Due to these characteristics, nut is widely used in the food industry for producing flour, grits, starch, and other products, as well as in feed and industrial sectors. Cultivation of this variety can yield good profits due to its high quality and demand for raw materials.
