Mustard Albatros

German precision in cover cropping

When selecting a cover crop, predictability is the most valuable asset. The «Albatros» variety from P.H.Petersen Saatzucht Lundsgaard brings exactly that: German breeding standards focused on consistent biomass production. In the field, this mustard cultivar is a workhorse that establishes quickly and covers the ground efficiently before weeds get a chance to establish themselves.

Why «Albatros» performs on the field

From an operator's perspective, this variety is hassle-free. Here’s what makes it stand out in daily field operations:

• Rapid establishment: The germination energy is high, resulting in an even stand even when soil moisture conditions are less than ideal.
• Soil structural benefits: The deep, fibrous root system of «Albatros» acts as a natural tillage tool, improving drainage and soil porosity.
• Biomass management: The variety produces a lush, uniform canopy. When it's time to incorporate, it breaks down cleanly, enriching the soil with organic nitrogen and reducing soil-borne pathogens.

Using P.H.Petersen genetics means you are not dealing with impurities or uneven maturity cycles. The crop is easy to manage with standard tillage equipment—disk it in at the flowering stage, and it does the rest. It is a straightforward, low-maintenance solution for farmers who want to improve their soil structure and fertility without extra complexity. «Albatros» turns a simple field maintenance task into a highly efficient part of your crop rotation strategy.
