Mustard Czarivna Pivnochi

Practical Application of 'Tsarivna Pivnochi' Mustard

For farmers focused on optimizing forage resources and improving soil structure, the 'Tsarivna Pivnochi' mustard variety from the National Research Center 'Institute of Agriculture of NAAS' provides a balanced, effective solution. The choice of this variety is driven by its high adaptability to Ukrainian climatic conditions and clear economic benefits within the crop rotation cycle.

Key Operational Scenarios

• Strengthening Forage Base: The primary purpose of this crop is to provide high-quality forage. With an oil content of 35–40%, the seeds are a valuable component for producing high-energy feed mixtures, essential for productive livestock farming.
• Green Manure (Sideration) and Phytosanitation: Agronomists utilize 'Tsarivna Pivnochi' as a highly efficient cover crop. The variety rapidly develops biomass, suppressing weed growth and promoting soil health. Its root system actively loosens the topsoil, improving aeration and moisture retention for subsequent crops in the rotation.
• Reliable Yield: Under standard agrotechnical practices, the variety consistently delivers grain yields in the range of 20–25 c/ha. This allows farms to secure their own seed stock for future seasons while producing marketable output for further processing.

Integrating this variety into crop rotation is an efficient strategy for preparing fields for winter cereals. The rapid growth rate and adaptability to various soil types make 'Tsarivna Pivnochi' a predictable element of field management, where grain yield serves as a valuable bonus alongside the systematic improvement of field soil quality.
