Baldio

Baldio F1 is a mid-season hybrid of the Berlikum type, developed by Bejo Zaden from the Netherlands. This hybrid is characterized by high stress resistance and immunity to major leaf diseases such as alternaria and cercospora. The maturation period ranges from 103 to 115 days depending on the region and growing conditions. The seeds exhibit high germination rates and uniform sprouting, ensuring a stable and high yield when proper agronomic practices and crop rotation are followed.

The roots of Baldio carrots have a cylindrical shape with a rounded tip, smooth surface, and vibrant orange color. The fruit length reaches 20-24 cm, the diameter is 3-5 cm, and the weight varies from 120 to 250 g. The carrots are characterized by uniformity, absence of cracking and "tail" formation, making them convenient for mechanized harvesting and transportation. The fruits contain a significant amount of sugars (approximately 8-9%), carotene (up to 22.4 mg), and dry matter (11-12.4%), ensuring high flavor quality and nutritional value.

The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various soil-climatic conditions, including northern and central regions of Ukraine, as well as other areas with different soil types. Baldio carrots are recommended for use both on fresh markets and for processing and long-term storage due to their good resistance to damage and preservation of flavor quality over several months. To improve yield and product quality, it is important to perform thinning, control soil moisture, and promptly combat pests.
