Description Lyubava
The LYUBAVA melon variety is an early-maturing variety of Altai breeding intended for open-ground cultivation. The plant is medium-vining, which ensures ease of care and shaping. The fruits have an elongated-oval shape and yellow-orange color, reaching a weight of up to 2 kg. The flesh is bright orange, juicy, and melts in the mouth, with a pronounced melon aroma, high sugar and carotene content, giving it a rich taste and beneficial properties. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to adverse weather conditions, as well as diseases such as ancranz and powdery mildew. Thanks to these qualities, LYUBAVA is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including areas with unstable agriculture. For planting, seeds are sown in the ground in May or seedlings are used, which are sown in mid-March in peat pots. Seedlings are pinched above the fifth leaf to stimulate side shoots, and are planted in the ground after the end of spring frosts. Care for the plants includes watering and fertilization, which are carried out in holes around the seedlings, avoiding moisture getting on the leaves and root collar. For fruit formation, stems are pinched after the appearance of 5-6 leaves, leaving 3-5 fruits on the plant. Watering is stopped 10-15 days before ripening. LYUBAVA melons are consumed fresh, and are also used for drying and drying, which expands the possibilities of their application.
