PRINCESS MARIA

The 'Princess Maria' melon is an early-maturing hybrid with a maturation period of 60-70 days. The fruits have an oval shape, a grey-green rind with a large, dense, and convex netting resembling felt. The fruit weight ranges from 1.3 to 1.5 kg. The flesh is rich orange, juicy, and sugary, with a pronounced musky aroma, which gives it a harmonious taste and attractive color.

This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to diseases such as anthracnose and powdery mildew, as well as to unfavorable weather conditions, and exhibits cold hardiness. Thanks to these qualities, 'Princess Maria' is suitable for cultivation in areas with unstable agriculture, primarily under film cover in the flatbed method or in greenhouses on trellises. For optimal fruit formation, it is recommended to pinch the stems after the 5-6th leaf and leave 3-5 fruits on the plant. Irrigation should be stopped 10-15 days before ripening, which improves the taste qualities and sugar content of the fruits.

The 'Princess Maria' melon is consumed mainly fresh, but it is also suitable for making marmalade, candied fruits, as well as for drying and sun-drying. The hybrid is distinguished not only by its excellent taste but also by its suitability for short-term storage, making it convenient for sales and consumption in a fresh state.
