Description Blue-orange
The flax variety 'Blue-orange' was created by hybridization followed by individual-family selection. It is a medium-maturing, high-yielding variety with a vegetation period of 90–95 days and plant height of 60–70 cm. The plants have blue flowers, and the seeds are oval-shaped with a yellow-orange color. The 1000-seed weight is 9.0–9.5 g. The variety is resistant to lodging, pod cracking, and seed shattering, and has moderate resistance to pests and diseases.

This variety is intended for producing food and technical oil, as well as for animal feed, especially poultry. Its distinctive feature is a significant reduction in cholesterol accumulation in eggs when using the meal from this flax. Oil content in seeds ranges from 47.0% to 51.0%, with yields from 19.0 to 32.0 centners per hectare, and potential yields may reach 37.9 centners per hectare.

The 'Blue-orange' variety is well-adapted to cultivation in various climatic zones, including Steppe, Forest-steppe, and Polissia. It responds intensively to growing conditions and fertilization, enabling high yields with proper agronomy. Due to its characteristics and resilience, this variety is promising for producing high-quality flax oil and feed products.
