Description ATAS
The ATAS onion is a medium-maturing onion variety intended for bulb production as a single-year crop from seeds. The bulb has an elongated-oval shape and weighs between 70 and 80 grams. The dry skins are yellow with a brown tint, numbering 2-3, while the fleshy skins are white. The bulb neck is of medium thickness and two-chambered, which contributes to good plant development. The onion has a semi-sharp taste, making it versatile for various culinary purposes.

The variety boasts a marketable yield at the level of 182 centners per hectare, which corresponds to the average standard. Bulb maturity before harvesting reaches 88%, increasing to 98% after post-harvest ripening, indicating high product quality. ATAS onion possesses resistance to bolting, which reduces crop losses and eases plant care. However, the variety has medium susceptibility to powdery mildew and neck rot, so when growing, it is recommended to adhere to agronomic measures to prevent diseases.

For successful cultivation of ATAS onion, fertile soils with a neutral reaction are recommended, avoiding acidic, heavy, and waterlogged substrates. Beds should be well-lit, which promotes full bulb development. Planting is carried out in early spring, observing optimal depth and layout of planting material. With proper care and adherence to agronomic requirements, the ATAS variety ensures a stable and quality crop, suitable for both personal subsidiary holdings and commercial cultivation.
