Honeysuckle Koketka

Technical Profile: 'Koketka' Honeysuckle

The 'Koketka' variety is a product of scientific breeding by the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR). Engineered for moderate climate stability, this variety offers a balanced architecture between plant vigor and yield. The shrub reaches a height of 1.2–1.5 meters, making it highly manageable for standard agricultural operations.

Berry Morphology and Productivity

Fruit weight ranges between 0.8 and 1.2 grams. The taste profile is characterized as bittersweet with a distinct hint of bitterness, which is typical for the variety’s genetic pedigree. The technical value lies in the concentration of bioactive compounds preserved by the VIR collection.

• Yield Potential: 1.5–2.5 kg of berries per bush under standard management practices.
• Plant Dimensions: A compact stature of 1.2–1.5 meters ensures optimal planting density.
• Usage: Suitable for both fresh consumption and industrial processing.

From an agronomic perspective, the primary technical consideration for 'Koketka' is cross-pollination. To achieve the stated yields, neighboring pollinator varieties must be present. The variety demonstrates notable resilience to spring temperature fluctuations, protecting the generative buds from common early-season climate risks.
