Multy lettuce is a new type of leaf lettuce with dark green, deeply lobed leaves, belonging to the fril-leaf (Multyleaf) type. The medium to large rosette has an attractive appearance and a crisp yet pliable leaf structure, ensuring ease of packaging and transport. Thanks to these qualities, the lettuce retains freshness and visual appeal on supermarket shelves, remaining crisp even after long-term storage.
This variety is well-adapted for cultivation both in protected soil using salad soil mixes and NFT lines, as well as in open ground during spring and autumn rotations. The vegetative period ranges from 65 to 85 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The recommended sowing rate is 120-130 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring efficient land use and high yield.
Multy exhibits high tolerance to downy mildew (Bremia) of various strains 3-9, 11, 12, 15-25, significantly reducing disease risk and crop loss. Seeds are pelleted, with high germination rate of 90-93% and thousand seed weight from 0.9 to 1.1 grams. All these characteristics make Multy lettuce an excellent choice for commercial cultivation and marketing, ensuring consistent quality and product appeal.
