Lettuce Kiambi

Professional choice for late-season production

Kямбі (Kyambi) from Rijk Zwaan is a premium lettuce hybrid designed for growers who prioritize reliability and high-quality yield during the late harvest window. By selecting this variety, producers can extend their market presence well beyond the peak season, ensuring a steady supply of fresh, high-quality leaves.

Robust disease management

The primary practical advantage of this hybrid is its built-in genetic resilience. In fields where late-season moisture and temperature fluctuations often trigger disease outbreaks, the Kyambi variety stands out due to its specific resistance profile:

• Downy Mildew: Effectively withstands pressure from fungal pathogens in humid conditions.
• Lettuce Mosaic Virus: Maintains crop health, preventing common viral losses.
• Powdery Mildew: Features high tolerance, significantly reducing the necessity for chemical fungicide interventions.

Market-ready features

This leaf-type lettuce forms a well-structured, light-green rosette with a consistent average weight. This uniformity makes it exceptionally easy to pack and process for wholesale markets or retail chains. The texture and structural integrity of the leaves ensure that the product reaches the consumer in prime condition, minimizing transit damage. Choosing Kyambi allows farm managers to simplify their protection programs while focusing on delivering clean, healthy, and visually appealing lettuce during the late rotation periods.
