Lettuce Kantariks

Stable Iceberg Yields Under Any Conditions

The «Kantariks» hybrid from the Dutch breeding company Enza Limited is a high-tech solution for professional vegetable growers focused on producing heavy, uniform Iceberg-type heads. With a maturation period of 75–85 days, this lettuce demonstrates excellent adaptability, allowing for seamless production scheduling to meet market demand.

Agronomic Potential and Resistance

The core value of «Kantariks» lies in its comprehensive protection against key phytopathogens that often negate efforts in leaf lettuce cultivation. Genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt allows for planting on fields with a history of intensive use, where the risk of soil-borne infections is elevated. Furthermore, the variety is not susceptible to Lettuce Mosaic Virus or Cladosporium, reducing the need for fungicide treatments.

Practical Application Scenarios

• Logistics Optimization: The large, dense, light-green heads possess high marketability and excellent transportability. This is critical for farms working with retail chains, where requirements for visual appeal and shelf life are extremely high.
• Growing Technology: The hybrid shows predictable results when adhering to planting patterns, ensuring uniform rosette development. The head mass remains stable even under temperature fluctuations, making it a reliable tool for professional farmers.
• Sequential Production: Due to its extended harvest window, growers can approach the harvest schedule with flexibility, minimizing losses if cutting is delayed by several days.

Choosing «Kantariks» is an investment in predictable outcomes and reduced production risks when growing open-field lettuce.
