Lettuce Fayer

A Vivid Accent in the Leaf Lettuce Segment

The «Fire» lettuce, developed by the Gavrish breeding firm and VNIISSOK, is the go-to choice for those who prioritize the visual presentation of their dishes. During the development of this variety, breeders led by Dmitry Gladkov focused on creating an extremely saturated color that distinguishes the plant from competitors right in the field.

Key Vegetation Features

As a mid-season variety, «Fire» demonstrates growth stability typical of selective breeding adapted to temperate climates. Its main highlight is the intense red color of the leaves, which remains vibrant even under direct sunlight. Unlike many varieties prone to rapid loss of marketability, this lettuce maintains its rosette shape remarkably well.

Who is this variety for?

• For Farmers: The medium rosette weight allows for predictable marketable yield per square meter. It is an excellent option for diversifying a "colored" salad assortment.
• For Chefs: The deep hue makes it an indispensable component for salad mixes, where visual contrast with green varieties is essential.
• For Home Gardeners: Low maintenance and mid-season maturity allow for staggered harvesting.

The main strength of «Fire» lies in its balance of decorative appeal and taste. However, keep in mind: like many red-pigmented varieties, it requires regular watering to maintain leaf succulence. If moisture is insufficient, the taste may lose its tenderness, and the rosette may enter the bolting phase faster. It is ideal for open-field cultivation and under plastic tunnels.
