Kucheryavets Gribovskiy lettuce is a mid-season semi-headed variety intended for cultivation in open ground. The period from germination to technical maturity ranges from 59 to 75 days, allowing for a stable harvest under various climatic conditions. The head of this variety is loose, weighing from 250 to 470 grams, with large, crunchy, and juicy bright green leaves featuring a finely ruffled edge and a fan shape. The variety is distinguished by its excellent taste and disease resistance, making it attractive to gardeners and farmers.
For sowing, it is recommended to use seedlings planted from March to May, or sow seeds directly into the ground in early June for summer consumption. Winter sowing in open ground and greenhouses in early August is also possible. Seeds are sown in furrows 1-2 cm deep, with a distance of 8-10 cm between plants when thinning seedlings, and about 25 cm between rows. To obtain greens on a continuous basis, repeated sowings are carried out with a two-week interval until mid-August.
Optimal growing conditions include temperatures from +5°C, where the variety shows high cold hardiness, up to 15-20°C for active growth. Plants require timely watering, preferably in the morning, consuming 17-20 liters of water per square meter per week, which promotes healthy development and reduces the risk of disease due to leaves drying out by evening. Regular weeding, soil loosening, and fertilization with mineral fertilizers are also important for ensuring prolonged and abundant crop growth.
