Lettuce Extemp

Extemp salad represents an early Frise endive type from the Salanova range, developed by Rijk Zwaan. This variety is characterized by a powerful and fast-growing plant with deeply dissected light-green leaves up to 20 cm long. The average head weight ranges from 120 to 200 grams. The salad leaves are crisp, juicy, and have a pleasant, delicate taste, making them attractive to consumers. Thanks to its structure and appearance, Extemp salad maintains freshness and nutritional value for a long time, which is especially important during marketing and processing.

Extemp variety is distinguished by high heat tolerance and productivity even under significant solar activity, allowing it to be successfully grown primarily during the summer season. It is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in closed greenhouse conditions, including growing on soil and flow hydroponics. The plant is not prone to bolting, which ensures a stable yield without premature flowering.

In addition, the salad exhibits high resistance to various diseases and pests, such as leaf necrosis, downy mildew, and cabbage aphid, which reduces the need for treatments and increases the eco-friendliness of cultivation. During processing and use in mixes, Extemp salad maintains volume and an attractive package appearance, making it in demand for both fresh consumption and industrial processing.
