Excite lettuce is a high-yield variety of leaf lettuce of the Batavia type with a vegetation period of 48 to 56 days. This variety is characterized by an open leaf rosette weighing up to 750 g, a height of about 20 cm, and a diameter of up to 19 cm. The leaves are light green, large, rhombic-shape with smooth surface and wavy edges. The greens have a juicy texture and delicate taste, making the lettuce ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for preparing salads and sandwiches.
Excite is intended for year-round cultivation in open and protected ground, as well as hydroponics. The variety is characterized by high plasticity and resistance to various growing conditions, including cooling and high solar activity. It responds well to regular watering and application of mineral fertilizers, which contributes to the formation of a large amount of green mass and high yield - up to 5.7–6.0 kg per square meter. The recommended planting density is 10-13 plants per square meter.
Lettuce Excite is resistant to such diseases as false powdery mildew, internal leaf necrosis, and lettuce aphid, which significantly eases care and reduces crop losses. It is suitable for both manual and mechanized harvesting, withstands transportation well, and can be stored for a long time without loss of commercial qualities. Thanks to these characteristics, the Excite variety is an excellent choice for cultivation both on a commercial scale and at home.
