Clarkia 'Joy' is an annual decorative plant that attracts attention with a bright color palette and compact size. Bushes reach a height of 30 to 80 cm, depending on the variety; leaves are oval, blue-green with red veins, and stems are thin but sturdy. Flowers are double pink, 3–4 cm in diameter, located singly in leaf axils, forming panicle or conical inflorescences.
The plant is easy to grow in open ground and in containers. For planting, well-drained soil with moderate organic matter content is recommended; overwatering should be avoided. Watering is done twice a week in moderate amounts, especially important to maintain moisture during inflorescence formation. Clarkia 'Joy' does not require special fertilization, but can be supplemented with mineral fertilizers during flowering to enhance flower brightness.
Care for the plant is simple: removing dried leaves and cutting after flowering promote denser growth. When pests appear – aphids or mealybugs – it is recommended to treat the plant with insecticides or natural means, such as a soap solution. The plant is resistant to diseases, but root rot may occur with overwatering. Clarkia 'Joy' is not poisonous and is suitable for use in flowerbeds, group plantings, and bouquets, where its bright flowers attract attention and create a picturesque view.
