Corn salad Sonett

A Benchmark for Professional Salad Production

The Dutch breeding expertise of Rijk Zwaan has long been a gold standard in the leafy greens segment, and the «Sonnette» corn salad is a prime example of this quality. This variety has secured a solid position in commercial farming, thanks to the perfect balance of visual appeal and agronomic reliability highly valued by modern producers.

Agronomic Advantages

The standout feature of this variety is its deep, dark green leaf color. In retail environments, where shelf appeal drives consumer purchasing decisions, «Sonnette» excels by maintaining its fresh, vibrant look even after extended transit times.

• Disease Resistance: High resistance to powdery mildew significantly minimizes crop loss risks, which is essential for maintaining consistent profit margins.
• Application: A professional-grade solution for the fresh market and ready-to-eat salad mixes.
• Origin: Developed in the Netherlands, ensuring rigorous adherence to high-quality varietal standards.

Rijk Zwaan’s breeders have focused heavily on stability. «Sonnette» offers predictable growth rates and excellent uniformity, which streamlines mechanized harvesting and sorting processes. For farmers, this translates into reduced operational costs and the ability to deliver premium-grade produce that meets the strict demands of both the HoReCa sector and major supermarket chains.

Choosing this variety is an investment in reliability. In intensive farming systems, where every hectare must be utilized at peak efficiency, «Sonnette» provides the ideal equilibrium between pathogen protection and superior aesthetic quality.
