Canna "Livadia" – a dwarf hybrid from the Croisi group, with a stem height ranging from 80 to 140 cm. Flowers are a bright red shade (raspberry-pink), large and uniform; the diameter of an individual flower is approximately 12.5×10 cm, and an inflorescence about 25 cm long contains up to 27 buds. Leaves have a purple or dark green color with a characteristic fold.
This plant is especially suitable for the coastal area and decorative compositions in gardens, mixed borders, and balconies. "Livadia" prefers abundant watering – it is moisture-loving, but at the same time resistant to various growing conditions. To maintain shape, it is recommended to timely cut off inflorescences, as the development of seed pods can slow down growth.
Care for canna includes regular watering (as the soil dries out), protection from pests and diseases – rust, gray mold, slugs, caterpillars, aphids, and nematodes. Prevention is carried out with fertilizers, disinfection of the soil, and regular inspection of the plant. In mid-latitude conditions, cannas do not survive the winter, so before the onset of cold, they must be dug up or treated accordingly.
