Description Nixe
The Nixe potato is a high-yielding table variety of medium-early maturity developed by German specialists. Tubers have an attractive oval shape, uniform in size, with smooth, thin but tough yellow skin. Eyes are small and superficial, and the flesh is a rich yellow color, does not darken during cooking or exposure to air. Starch content in tubers is about 15-16%, providing moderate cooking properties and excellent taste qualities. This variety belongs to the culinary type BC according to EARP classification and is suitable for various cooking methods: frying, boiling, baking, as well as for salads, soups, and mashed potatoes.

Nixe plants are semi-upright, compact, with large green leaves and medium-density white flowers. Plant height reaches 60-70 cm. The variety is characterized by strong immunity and resistance to a range of diseases, including late blight, blackleg, rizoctonia, iron spot, scab, potato cyst nematode, virus Y, and golden cyst nematode. Despite its relative resistance to scab, the Colorado beetle may still pose some threat. Nixe adapts well to various climatic conditions and soil types, but shows best yields on fertile, light soils of moderate zones.

Nixe potato has a long storage life and maintains excellent market quality throughout the storage period. High yield and a high percentage of marketable tubers make this variety attractive for various packaging types and commercial production. Thanks to its disease resistance, good storability, and culinary versatility, Nixe is a reliable choice for both farmers and home gardeners.
