Description Favorit
The potato variety FAVORIT is a medium-early Russian variety with a maturation period of 90-110 days. Tubers are elongated-oval, cream-colored with partial red skin coloring, weighing from 101 to 136 grams. The flesh has a good flavor, does not darken when cut or thermally processed, making this variety suitable for various culinary purposes. The culinary type AB allows the potato to be used for soups, salads, frying, and especially well-suited for french fries and chips, as the slices retain their shape. Starch content varies from 12.6% to 16.4%, providing moderate softening of tubers.

The FAVORIT variety is characterized by high yield — from 170 to 420 centners per hectare, and tuber marketability reaches 80-96%. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 6 to 12. The variety has high storability, about 93%, allowing long-term storage without loss of quality. The potato is low-maintenance, but for maximum productivity, attention should be paid to watering and fertilization.

One of the key advantages of this variety is its high resistance to various diseases and pests. FAVORIT is resistant to potato cyst nematode, golden nematode, leaf curl, mosaic virus, leaf and tuber late blight, and common, black scab, and rhizoctonia. Due to this, the variety adapts well to challenging climatic conditions and is suitable for cultivation in central regions of Russia and other areas with similar conditions.
