Dobrochin

The Dobrochin potato variety is a mid-early table variety with a vegetation period of 80–90 days. Plants are of medium height, well-branched, with a compact cluster. Flowers have a red-violet corolla. Tubers are oval or round-oval, pink in color with small eyes and white flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers is 70–80 grams. The variety is characterized by good storability during winter storage, ensuring the preservation of the harvest for a long period.

Starch content in tubers ranges from 13.9% to 18.5%, providing good taste qualities, rated on average 3.3–3.9 points. The yield of this variety is high: at first harvests it reaches 90–120 centners per hectare, and at the end of vegetation — 310–320 centners per hectare, which is 22 centners higher than the standard variety Zov. Dobrochin is resistant to the common biotype of potato cyst nematode, moderately resistant to Phytophthora infestans affecting both foliage and tubers, and relatively resistant to bacterial blight and stem nematode. Additionally, the variety exhibits field resistance to viral diseases and moderate resistance to potato nematode.

The Dobrochin variety is recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including areas such as Sedneve. Its disease resistance and good agronomic characteristics make it attractive to farmers and gardeners. The potato is suitable for various cooking methods due to its excellent taste qualities and optimal starch content.
