Ternopilsk willow – one of the most beautiful varieties of decorative trees, also known as Japanese matsudana, deer willow, or twisting willow. Its branches grow in irregular spirals, creating a unique and mesmerizing appearance: silver-green twigs and rolled leaves give the tree elegance and sophistication. This shape is a natural feature of the species, not the result of agrotechnics.
The foliage of Ternopilsk changes color depending on the season: emerald-green in spring, silver-olive in summer, and yellow-red in autumn. The outer side of the leaves is smooth, the inner side – velvety, which adds additional texture. The tree can reach a height of 6–7 m or develop as a large multi-module shrub depending on the growing form.
Ternopilsk willow grows quickly: in the first years the sprout reaches 100 cm per season, while more mature plants – about 50 cm. The tree lives long, usually 30–40 years, and tolerates severe frosts well. Regular watering and care are needed to maintain a decorative appearance, however, it does not make special demands on the soil.
