Willow M2

Biological Potential and Growth Dynamics

The 'M2' willow hybrid is a fast-growing woody plant form specifically adapted to Ukrainian climatic conditions. The key technical feature of this hybrid lies in its high cambial activity: under favorable conditions, the plant is capable of producing up to 1.5 meters of vegetative mass per season. This growth rate makes the variety an optimal solution for the rapid establishment of dense hedges and windbreaks.

Morphological Plasticity

The genetic profile of 'M2' allows for the cultivation of the plant in two distinct functional habits:

• Compact shrub: With regular pruning, the height can be maintained within the 2–3 meter range. In this state, the plant focuses energy on lateral branching, creating a visually impenetrable fence.
• Tree form: With minimal pruning, the willow develops a dominant leader shoot, reaching heights of 15–20 meters. This configuration is ideal for landscape projects requiring rapid vertical greening.

Practical Application

Utilizing the 'M2' variety minimizes the time required to achieve the desired landscaping results. The high rate of lignification (wood maturation) of the shoots ensures structural resistance against wind gusts, while the robust root system effectively stabilizes the soil, making this variety suitable for slope reinforcement. The hybrid demonstrates excellent tolerance to pruning, allowing the owner to redistribute growth resources based on specific site requirements.
