Gloxinia "Kaiser Wilhelm" – a compact houseplant reaching a height of 20–25 cm. Its characteristic feature is purple petals on a white-cream edge, creating a neon light effect. When fully open, the bud can reach up to 9 cm, and an adult plant usually bears about twenty flowers.
Flowering begins in November and continues until February, with all buds opening simultaneously, making the plant particularly attractive during the cold season. The plant reproduces via corms; for planting, the spring period is recommended when the soil becomes more moist.
For successful cultivation, gloxinia must be placed in bright locations with at least 12 hours of light per day. Watering should be done as needed, avoiding waterlogging of the soil. The plant prefers light, fertilized, and water-permeable soil, which provides optimal conditions for growth and flowering.
