DescriptionVictor
Iris victoris is a rare endemic species of the Southern Pamiro-Alay, which blooms in February–March and bears fruit as early as April. The plant prefers gray soils and is found in Surkhandarya Region, particularly in the Kohitang district, Kelif-Sherabad ridge, and Aktash village.
Iris victoris reproduces both by seeds and vegetatively. Despite its uniqueness, the species is threatened due to the shrinking of natural habitats and intensive livestock grazing. It is not protected but is included in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This variety is distinguished by its special beauty and rarity, making it a valuable object for collectors and florists in the region. When cultivating, attention must be paid to soil and climate requirements, as well as protection from excessive grazing.
