Iris VERESHCHAGINEC

Elegance in every petal: the «Vereshchaginets» variety

The «Vereshchaginets» iris is a selection product that holds a well-deserved place in the range of ornamental crops offered by FANCA. Unlike many modern hybrids focused exclusively on commercial cut flowers, this variety demonstrates remarkable resilience in open ground, making it an indispensable element of garden design.

Why choose «Vereshchaginets» for your garden?

The main advantage of this variety lies in its habitus. At a height of 80–90 cm, the plant forms a powerful yet harmonious clump that does not require mandatory staking or additional supports if planted in a location sheltered from strong winds. The original genetics from French breeders (Av Du Capitaine N Tchorere), combined with adaptation through FANCA, ensures high winter hardiness for the variety.

• Architectural expression: Ideally suited for creating multi-level mixed borders. The medium height allows the variety to be used in both the middle and back rows of a flower bed.
• Blooming stability: Unlike finicky elite varieties, «Vereshchaginets» shows predictable results in terms of timing and the abundance of flower stems.
• Adaptability: The variety tolerates temperature fluctuations well, which is typical for the climatic zones of its cultivation, reducing the risk of loss for decorative plantings.

Strong points include the high density of the flower stalk, which allows the plant to maintain a vertical position even after heavy rainfall. As a potential weakness, one should note the demand for good soil drainage: like many other irises, this variety does not tolerate water stagnation in the rhizome zone; therefore, when planting in heavy clay soils, a drainage layer must be provided.

«Vereshchaginets» will be an optimal choice for private garden owners looking for a balance between aesthetics and low maintenance. It is a classic choice for those who prefer reliability, enjoying consistent blooming for many years without the need for frequent clump division.
