URGUN

Iris "URGUN" is a hybrid variety from the Bearded group, obtained from free pollination of the "Coronation" cultivar. The plant reaches a height of about 65–70 cm, has a sturdy and branched scape approximately 45 cm long. Each scape typically bears 3–4 flowers, with two blooming simultaneously. Flowers are about 11 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height, bright yellow in color with dark yellow veins at the base of the petals and a yellow-orange beard. Upper lobes are wide, long, round, pleated, and wavy; lower ones are narrow, smooth, also wavy.

The flower has a strong aroma that persists throughout the flowering period, which lasts approximately 15 days starting from June. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and heat resistance, as well as medium resistance to heterosporiosis. The bush grows slowly, making it suitable for use in open flower beds, borders, groups, rabatkas, and for cutting.

"URGUN" is recommended for greening parks, squares, roadside areas, and alpine slopes. Due to its sturdy scape and medium transportability, it is well-suited for both mass cultivation in the central region of Russia and for decorative cutting.
