Iris "Usty-Katun" is a Japanese variety that this season produced seven fans and one flowering stem. The plant is grown along the bank of a natural pond, where favorable conditions promote its growth. Nitrogen fertilizers are not applied in spring; in summer, the plant is watered twice with humate and trace elements, and sometimes with complex fertilizers. In winter, bushes are cut back and covered with foliage.
The variety has a double form in bloom: a purple background with a white star and veins on the florets. Flowering stems reach a height of 90 cm, and usually 3–4 flowers per clump. Blooming occurs annually, but the number of flowering stems depends on the specific plant and climatic conditions.
For successful cultivation, "Usty-Katun" is recommended to be planted in a moist, sheltered place by the pond or in warm garden soil. With proper fertilization and care, the plant will delight with bright flowers every season.
