Iris «PAVLA» is a late-flowering variety of Japanese Iris that was included in the register of approved plants in 2017 and is available for planting in all regions of Russia. The plant reaches a height of 60–70 cm, has long narrow leaves of a medium-thickness in a yellowish-green color. Inflorescence stalks of «PAVLA» are thin, strong, upright, and branched; usually 4 to 5 inflorescences are formed on one plant, each containing two to three flowers.
Flowers of this variety are single-petaled, monochromatic, and of a bright purple shade. The outer perianth consists of three lobes, widely spreading, rounded, with a velvety surface and a shiny greenish-yellow central vein; the inner perianth is inverse-lanceolate, short, narrow, bright purple with a pale yellow spot. Pistil lobes are long, pale yellow-green in color. Flowers do not have an aroma, but the coloring remains without fading and they do not fall off.
The variety «PAVLA» is distinguished by resistance to diseases and pests, as well as winter hardiness and heat tolerance, which makes it an ideal choice for greening forest and forest-steppe zones. The flowering period is about 15 days, during which you can enjoy the rich purple shade of the flowers.
