Hop Sapphire

Hop Breeding for Craft and Industry

The Russian hop variety "Sapphire" from "Grainrus Hmel" is a solution for brewers seeking a balance between distinct aromatics and raw material consistency. In field conditions, the variety demonstrates high adaptability to the Russian climate, which is critical for obtaining high-quality cones with precise alpha-acid levels.

Agronomic Profile and Protection

The key advantage of "Sapphire" for farm management is its genetic resistance to verticillium wilt. This significantly reduces the risk of crop loss and the need for additional fungicide applications, making cultivation more predictable and cost-effective. The plant responds well to intensive farming technologies, ensuring stable yields even in years with challenging weather conditions.

Practical Brewing Applications

This variety specializes in an aromatic profile. "Sapphire" offers a complex bouquet dominated by citrus, fruity, and spicy notes. This makes it a versatile tool for the brewery technician:

• Lagers: The variety imparts a subtle, delicate aroma without overwhelming the bitterness.
• Ales: Ideal for dry hopping, allowing the fruit components to shine through.
• Wheat Beer: The spicy undertones of "Sapphire" blend harmoniously with the esters characteristic of wheat yeast.

By choosing "Sapphire" from "Grainrus Hmel", farmers obtain a proven variety for replacing imported aromatic raw materials, and brewers gain a reliable tool for crafting complex and memorable flavor profiles.
