The Swamar pear is an autumn variety developed in France by researcher J. Delbar. The tree is medium-sized, reaching heights of 2.5-3 meters, with a compact pyramidal canopy of medium density. Fruit production begins on the 2-3rd year after planting, characterized by high and stable yield. The variety is distinguished by high frost resistance, withstanding temperatures down to -33°C, which allows its cultivation in central regions and colder areas. Additionally, Swamar is resistant to scab and drought, and has medium resistance to other diseases, including powdery mildew. Swamar pear fruits are large, weighing on average from 175 to 320 grams, sometimes reaching 500 grams. The fruit shape is elongated pear-shaped, with a main yellow-green skin color and a pinkish blush on the sunny side. The flesh is white, tender, oily, juicy, and has a sweet-sour taste with a slight spice, giving it an excellent dessert character. Ripening periods fall at the end of September - early October, allowing harvest collection in the autumn season. Fruits are well preserved under proper storage conditions, staying fresh for up to three months in a refrigerator. The variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones due to its high frost resistance and disease resistance. Swamar pear is valued for its high taste quality, stable fruiting, and good yield indicators, making it attractive for both private gardeners and commercial cultivation.
