Autumn variety from the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Growing. Obtained by crossing varieties 'Nежность' and 'Желтоплодная'. Breeders: E. A. Falkenberg, V. I. Putyatyn, M. A. Mazunin. Approved and widely grown in the Ural region.
Propagated by seedlings of Ussuri pear. Good compatibility and growth.
Medium-sized tree (4 m), characterized by vigorous upward growth in early years, but growth sharply slows down after fruiting begins. Sparse, round crown. Branches curved, sparsely arranged, departing from the trunk at nearly right angles. Branch tips directed upwards. Bark on trunk and main branches flaking, brown. Predominant fruiting structures are complex rings, spear-like formations, fruiting twigs. Fruit set observed at the tips of growth shoots.
Shoots thick, straight, brown. Many large-sized buds. Buds recurved, large, round, hairy. Flower buds large, hairy. Leaves large, broad, short-pointed, with spirally twisted tips, light green, wrinkled, matte. Leaf blade convex, curved, hairless. Leaf margin finely toothed, wavy. Petiole short, thick, hairless. Flowers large, cup-shaped, pink, petals oval.
Fruits medium-sized (130 g), one-dimensional, regular pear-shaped. Skin tender, smooth, oily. Color green at harvest, turning greenish-yellow with a beautiful diffuse pink blush on the lower part of the fruit.
Fruits are very attractive in appearance and highly marketable. Fruit stalk long, thick, curved. Calyx small, slightly rusted. Receptacle non-detaching, closed. Dish smooth.
Flesh very juicy, good flavor.
Harvesting maturity in Chelyabinsk occurs at the end of the second decade of September. Depending on weather conditions, fruits may be stored for one to three months. Primary use — fresh consumption.
Moderately early fruiting. High and annual yield.
Highly winter-hardy. In winter 1978-1979, when air temperature dropped to -48.3°C, a six-year-old mother tree suffered freezing damage rated at 3 points. Highly resistant to scab and pear gall mite.
Advantages of the variety: restrained tree growth, high winter hardiness, resistance to scab and pear gall mite, attractive appearance and fruit marketability.
