The Borey pear variety is a medium-sized tree with a rounded, dense crown and a compact arrangement of branches that are directed upwards at a right angle. The tree reaches a height of up to 4 meters and begins to bear fruit in the 5-6th year, with stable yields of about 8.3-8.5 tons per hectare. The variety is distinguished by medium winter hardiness, resistance to diseases and pests, as well as medium drought and heat tolerance.
The fruits of the Borey variety are small, weighing from 35 to 60 grams, with a broadly pear shape and a smooth, regular surface. The main color of the fruits at consumer maturity is light yellow or greenish-yellow, without skin coloration. The fruit stalk is of medium length and thickness, and is curved. The flesh is white, of medium density, finely grained, juicy and tender, with a sour-sweet taste and a slight spice, as well as a weak aroma. The taste rating reaches 4.5 points.
Fruit ripening occurs in late August to early September, and the fruits can be stored for up to 10 days after harvesting. The variety was bred in 1984 by pollinating the Kuyumskaya and Kubanka varieties, which ensured good yield and stability indicators. Borey is suitable for cultivation in moderate climate conditions, combining high-quality fruit with reliable care.
