Grape Marseille Early Black

Technical Potential and Cultivation Profile

"Marseille Black Early" is a grape variety engineered for high-performance yields with a focus on an extremely early harvest window. The core technical advantage of this variety lies in its ability to accumulate sugar rapidly, which is essential for both fresh market demand and specialized viticulture in the climatic conditions of Ukraine.

Key Botanical Data

• Bunch Structure: With a weight ranging from 500–800 g, the bunches are structurally sound, reducing the risk of rot while ensuring excellent visual presentation.
• Berry Characteristics: The 2–5 g berry size is optimized for durability during harvest and transport, maintaining high shelf-life quality.
• Sensory Profile: The presence of a distinct muscat flavor is a key genetic trait, providing high market appeal for both table consumption and small-batch winemaking.

Practical Application

The dual-purpose nature of the "Marseille Black Early" makes it a strategic asset for growers. Beyond its value as a fresh table grape, the aromatic muscat profile allows winemakers to produce expressive, early-season wines. The vine demonstrates strong adaptation to local environmental factors, ensuring that the wood ripens sufficiently before the onset of dormancy, which is vital for long-term vineyard productivity. Its reliability and early maturity phase minimize the risks associated with end-of-season weather variability.
