Description

The Marinovskiy grape variety consists of a vigorous bush with high reproductive capacity and abundant green mass. The leaves are of medium size, elegant and bright green, retaining their color until late autumn, while young shoots have a rich red hue, giving the plant decorative appeal. The clusters are cylinder-cone shaped, of medium weight around 220-300 g, but with proper vine training can reach weights up to 1 kg. The berries are small, oval-shaped, dark blue or very dark black with a thick skin that protects the fruits from damage by insects and birds. The pulp is juicy and fleshy, and the juice is not colored.

The variety is medium-late, with a ripening period of 135-150 days; the harvest is collected from the end of September to mid-October. Marinovskiy is distinguished by its high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -30 °C without the need for covering, which significantly eases care. On hot summer days, the dense foliage creates shade and coolness, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The grape is prone to overloading with fruit, so pruning to 4-6 buds is recommended to improve berry quality and increase their size.

Marinovskiy is intended for the production of white and rosé dry ordinary table wines. The berry sugar content is 19-21 g/100 cm³, acidity 4-5 g/dm³, which ensures a balanced taste and aroma with subtle notes of Amur grape. The variety has medium resistance to downy mildew, high resistance to gray mold, but requires attention in the fight against powdery mildew. Thanks to its characteristics and decorative qualities, Marinovskiy is suitable both for winemaking and for use in landscape design, for example, for decorating gazebos, pergolas, and terraces.
