The Aksaiskiy Usaty 5 pea is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetative period of 65 to 92 days. Plants reach a height of 55 to 120 cm, have white flowers located in 1-2 per node, and leaves modified into tendrils. Pods are weakly curved with a blunt tip, contain 4-6 seeds, and have a parchment layer. Seeds at technical maturity are smooth and uniform in size, ensuring excellent taste qualities.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to pea aphids and ascochitosis, as well as drought and heat resistance. It is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and can be used for both food and grain-roughage purposes. Protein content in the grain is 26.2-27.4%, making it a valuable high-protein food component. Yield reaches 0.2-0.4 kg per square meter.
AKSAISKIY USATY 5 is recommended for fresh consumption, drying, and freezing at the milk-wax maturity stage, as well as for further processing. In home cooking, peas are used in soups, side dishes, and separate dishes. Sowing is carried out in early spring on a sunny side of the plot at a depth of 4-6 cm, with a sowing rate of 1.2-1.3 million seeds per hectare. The best predecessors for this variety are winter wheat and silage corn.
