Tavrivchanka 15 mustard is an agricultural mustard variety developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops. The variety is characterized by high yield and good resistance to diseases, including fusarium and powdery mildew. The plant grows well in various climatic conditions, especially in the central belt and south of Ukraine, and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses.
The maturation period is 90–100 days. Plant height ranges from 25 to 100 cm; stems are rigid, hairy, upright, and branched at the top. The mustard flowers in June–July, and the fruits – pods filled with small light-yellow seeds – ripen in August. Tavrivchanka 15 seeds are used to produce high-quality mustard used both in the food industry and in household settings.
For growing this variety, regular watering and timely fertilization are recommended. It is resistant to pests and diseases, as well as tolerates frost down to –6 °C during germination at temperatures of 1–2 °C. Thanks to its properties, Tavrivchanka 15 can be used both as a food product and to improve soil quality, as after harvest, plant residues serve as green fertilizer, promoting microbial development and suppressing weeds.
