Gladiolus NASTASIA

Gromov's Selection: Aesthetics and Resilience

The 'Nastassja' gladiolus is a distinguished variety developed by the renowned breeder Andrei Nikolaevich Gromov. It has established a firm reputation among flower enthusiasts for its sophisticated palette and a classic form that perfectly balances structural strength with delicate aesthetics.

Visual Profile and Morphology

This variety grows to impressive heights, with spikes reaching 140–160 cm. The large, heavily ruffled flowers, measuring 15–17 cm in diameter, display a soft blend of cream and pink hues. This color transition provides an airy, elegant appearance, making the blooms highly sought after for floral arrangements.

Cultivation and Application

'Nastassja' is prized for its extended blooming period and exceptional ornamental value. Key application areas include:

• Cut flowers: The dense, ruffled texture of the petals ensures excellent vase life and durability during transport.
• Landscaping: Its height makes it a perfect choice for back-border planting or as a dramatic vertical feature in flower beds.

It is important to note that this variety is not winter-hardy. Proper care involves digging up the corms after the first frosts and storing them in a cool, dry environment. Adhering to these seasonal requirements will ensure consistent, vibrant blooms year after year.
