The Gladiolus variety MENUET is a hybrid perennial herbaceous plant, grown as an annual in culture. This variety was bred and patented by breeder A.N. Gromov and included in the Russian State Register. The plant is distinguished by a long, two-rowed, and dense spike consisting of 23-25 large flowers, from which 9-11 open simultaneously. The flowers have a delicate salmon-pink hue, with inversely ovate, wide, and medium-pleated perianth segments, which gives them special elegance and attractiveness.
For successful cultivation of the MENUET gladiolus, it is recommended to plant bulbs in spring, from April to May, in sunny areas with good lighting, as the plant loves light and even slight shade can negatively affect flower development. The optimal planting depth depends on bulb size: small ones are planted at a depth of 5-10 cm, large ones at 10-15 cm. The soil should be fertile, preferably clay or chernozem, which promotes good growth and abundant flowering.
The flowering of the MENUET gladiolus begins in summer and continues until autumn, creating a bright and romantic garden decoration. After the flowering period, bulbs are recommended to be dug up for winter storage, which allows to maintain their viability and prepare them for the next season. This variety will be an excellent choice for those who appreciate large, eye-catching flowers with delicate coloring and wish to decorate their plot with beautiful and long-lasting plants.
