Aider

Aider is a winter garlic variety developed by breeders from the Kyiv region, particularly from Belaya Tserkva. It is distinguished by high yield, reaching up to 12 tons per hectare, and resistance to diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for cultivation both on private plots and in farms. The low-growing plant type allows for denser planting, which contributes to harvesting a greater volume of produce from limited areas. Garlic bulbs can reach up to 50 grams in weight, and maturity can be determined by seed-bearing flower stalks that appear in July, when harvesting is conducted. For successful cultivation of the Aider variety, it is recommended to select warmed and well-lit areas, avoiding planting near potatoes and onions due to shared diseases. Optimal predecessors for garlic are pumpkin, zucchini, cucumber, cabbage, and peas. Garlic cloves should be placed in the soil in a checkerboard pattern, which promotes better plant development and higher yield.
