Velten Bessarabia — a medium-sized walnut variety of Ukrainian selection, distinguished by particularly large nuts. The nut weight can exceed three grams, with the kernel occupying about 53% of the total weight, making it one of the best in taste quality among similar varieties. The nut shell is dense, about 1.5 mm thick, with a dark brown color, providing reliable protection for the kernel and contributing to long-term storage.
The bushes of this variety reach a height of about 5 meters and are characterized by high productivity — up to 9 kg of fruit can be harvested from one bush. The nuts ripen in mid-August, allowing their use in various food applications, including balanced nutrition due to the high protein content in the kernels.
