Festulolium is a hybrid crop obtained by crossing ryegrass and oatgrass. Thanks to this combination, the plant retains the best properties of both parent varieties: from ryegrass, it inherits cold hardiness and a powerful root system, and from oatgrass, the ability to quickly form dense green mass.
This special mixture allows growing high-quality grass even in colder regions. Festulolium is distinguished by its high growth rate, which makes its growing season very short and ensures rapid mass increase. Currently, there are about ten different varieties of festulolium, which differ mainly in the content of nutrients in green mass.
For sowing, a density of 25–30 kg/ha is recommended, which allows achieving optimal yield potential and ensures a stable feed resource for livestock. Thanks to improved properties and adaptability to cold climates, festulolium becomes a valuable choice for farmers seeking to increase the efficiency of feed crop production.
