Festulolium – a hybrid obtained by crossing ryegrass and oatgrass, allowing it to combine the best properties of both crops. Thanks to this, the plant is characterized by high resistance to low temperatures, a strong root system from ryegrass, and the ability to form a dense green cover from oatgrass.
The feed value of festulolium is confirmed by its high content of digestible protein (up to 18%) and richness in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. This makes it a valuable feed for cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. High yield – up to 500 c/ha of green mass – and rapid regeneration after mowing allow using the plant as hay and silage preparation.
In addition to the feed sector, festulolium finds application in landscape design: it effectively greens slopes, road verges, embankments, and residential areas. A short growing season and ability to grow quickly make it convenient for creating lawn cover and soil stabilization.
