ZEHIR

ZEHIR is a mid-season eggplant variety, ripening 110 days from germination to technical maturity. The plant is medium-sized and semi-spreading, suitable for growing under film covers and in greenhouses. The fruits are spherical, reaching up to 15 cm in diameter and weighing 300-320 g. At the stage of technical maturity, they are light with a pink-purple tint, while at biological maturity they turn yellow. The flesh is exceptionally tender, white, and completely free of bitterness, making this variety particularly attractive for culinary use.

ZEHIR eggplants fry and roast quickly, significantly reducing cooking time compared to regular varieties. The taste quality of the fruits is highly rated, so they are recommended for home cooking. To obtain a quality harvest, sowing for seedlings should be done in late February, and pricking out— at the cotyledon stage. Seedlings are transplanted in late May with a planting scheme of 40х60 cm.

Special attention is paid to plant formation: all side shoots and leaves up to the first fork must be removed. By the end of July, 5-6 of the largest fruits are left on each plant, while the rest of the flowers and fruits are removed. This agro-technical approach increases marketable yield, which is about 5.5 kg per square meter. The ZEHIR variety is excellent for growing under film covers and in greenhouses, ensuring a stable and quality harvest.
