Kohlrabi 'Feya': A Grower's Perspective

When working with 'Feya' kohlrabi from Nasko, you immediately notice the difference between a standard variety and one that is designed for easy management and profit. It is a mid-season crop that consistently matures 70–80 days after transplanting. For a grower, reliability is key, and this variety rarely presents surprises, provided basic irrigation schedules are met.

Field Performance and Quality

The stems have a deep purple color, which is a major draw for fresh market customers. The round shape is uniform, making packing into crates straightforward and efficient. Each head weighs between 0.2 and 0.5 kg—this is the 'golden standard' for retail, as it fits perfectly into consumer bags or small trays without becoming woody or overgrown if harvested on time.

Market and Operational Utility

• Fresh Market: The purple skin of 'Feya' stands out compared to green varieties, giving you a competitive edge in sales.
• Versatility: It is excellent for fresh consumption, but its texture remains tender enough for processing into vegetable mixes.
• Reliability: Nasko maintains high seed germination standards. In practice, the seedlings develop evenly, minimizing gaps in the field and optimizing labor costs during harvest.

If you are looking for a low-maintenance, high-yield purple kohlrabi that delivers consistent results in the field and at the checkout, 'Feya' is an excellent choice for a well-managed farm.
