Black Jack

Eggplant Black Jack is a high-yielding early-maturing hybrid developed by the Dutch company Bakker Brothers. The plant is vigorous, semi-spreading, reaching a height of up to 120 cm and possessing a strong structure with a well-developed root system. The stems are characterized by a pronounced dark purple anthocyanin coloration, giving the plant an attractive appearance. The fruits are compact, mostly located at the lower part of the plant.

The Black Jack eggplant fruits have a cylindrical shape, 20-25 cm long, with a weight from 250 to 350 g. The skin is thin, smooth and glossy, of a rich dark purple color, almost black. The flesh is white, dense, practically seedless, with an excellent taste and no bitterness. Due to its qualities, the fruits are versatile in application, store well and are easy to transport, making them convenient for commercial cultivation and home use.

The hybrid is resistant to most eggplant diseases and tolerant to unfavorable weather conditions, ensuring stable yield. Fruit bearing begins 110-115 days after germination. The recommended planting density is 3-4 plants per square meter. The yield reaches more than 9 kg/m² in open ground and about 13 kg/m² in protected conditions. To increase productivity, the use of non-ballast fertilizers, such as "Троянда сіль", is recommended.
