Blackcurrant variety Anniversary Sheringovoy is the result of selection by K. Kopany and V. Kopany, carried out in 1983 at the Institute of Horticulture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This variety belongs to late ripening, berries ripen from early to mid-July, depending on climatic conditions. Bushes are medium-sized, semi-spreading, 1 to 1.5 meters tall, with strong upright shoots that do not break even at high yields. Bunches of medium size, densely packed with berries, form 5 to 7 berries per cluster. Berries of the Anniversary Sheringovoy variety are black, oval-round in shape, average weight 3-4 grams, with elastic and tough skin. Flesh is juicy, aromatic, dense, with a tart-sweet taste and pleasant aroma of blackcurrant. Berries detach from the pedicel dry, which contributes to high transportability and ease of mechanized harvesting. Berries are suitable for both fresh consumption and all types of processing. The variety is characterized by high and stable yield — on average about 6 kilograms of berries per bush. It has high winter hardiness, drought resistance, and complex resistance to diseases and pests of fruit bushes. Anniversary Sheringovoy is adaptable to growing conditions and suitable for both home gardening and industrial production. Thanks to simultaneous ripening of berries and their non-shedding nature, harvesting becomes simplified and more efficient.
