Description Cossack
Black currant variety Cossack is a medium-early, high-yielding variety with high and stable productivity. Bushes are medium-height, upright, with medium-length and dense clusters. Berries are large, one-dimensional, oval-shaped, shiny black. Average berry mass ranges from 1.6 to 3 grams, with large berries reaching 2.6–3 grams. Skin is medium-thick, strong and elastic, with dry detachment, facilitating harvesting.

Berry flesh is greenish-brown, with a pleasant sour-sweet taste and a delicate, not overly strong aroma. Berries ripen uniformly and almost simultaneously, making this variety convenient for both manual and mechanical harvesting. Cossack black currant is resistant to fungal diseases and is self-fertile, ensuring stable fruiting without additional pollination.

This variety is adaptable to various growing conditions and suitable for multiple uses. Berries are ideal for fresh consumption, freezing, and processing. Berries contain a significant amount of vitamin C — approximately 252 mg per 100 grams — along with a balanced sugar and acid content, making them both nutritious and delicious.
