Hybrid cucumber 'Strema' is a vigorous plant with a main stem length exceeding 3.0-3.5 meters and moderate branching. Leaves are intensely green, five-lobed, and moderately dissected. Female-type flowering, parthenocarpic, ensuring fruiting without pollination. In winter greenhouses, first fruits appear 58-60 days after germination, allowing use in winter-spring rotation. The plant shows tolerance to powdery mildew and ascochytosis, enhancing disease resistance and ensuring stable yield. 'Strema' cucumber fruits are cylindrical, with smooth, glossy surface and sparse white hairs. Fruits are dark green, 20-28 cm long and 4-5 cm in diameter, weighing 220-250 grams each. The fruit base is smooth, without the characteristic stem. Flavor qualities are good, free of bitterness, making the cucumbers suitable for fresh consumption and various culinary uses. High yield reaches 25-30 kg per square meter in winter greenhouses, and on individual plots may reach up to 50 kg/m². Hybrid 'Strema' was developed and registered in 1989 by the Transnistrian Research Institute of Agriculture. It is recommended for cultivation in various regions with different light zones, including Northern, Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, and Middle Volga regions. Despite high resistance to some diseases, the variety is susceptible to false powdery mildew, root, gray and white rots, angular spot, and mosaic, requiring adherence to agronomic practices to prevent diseases. Due to its characteristics and high productivity, 'Strema' is suitable for cultivation both in commercial greenhouses and home conditions, including window box cultivation.
